      This one clogged quite literally during the fourth job which is why I made this video. I’m not good at math but I typically do between 8-15 jobs per day, so how many times would I have to replace it per day? 🤷‍♂️ My newest machine I simply removed the whole screen piece and reinstalled the exhaust tip, it’s been running fantastic for two full seasons now.

    • @JustnBlazn
      @JustnBlazn Месяц назад

      Or just clean it by burning off the soot. That guy who said his was clogged by the fourth job must be mixing his gas quite poorly or using terrible oil.

    • @RustyZipper
      @RustyZipper Месяц назад

      @@JustnBlazn - I only use the Stihl Synthetic (gray bottle) mix for the 2.5 gallon cans because there is less two stroke oil smell and less customer complaints. I only use 90 octane Non-Ethanol fuel in a 2.5 gallon push to pour jug. The problem is these sprayers typically run at a much lower idle than a regular blower which typically runs wide open most of the time, so there is a lot of unburnt oil. You are more than welcome to replace the screen. But I’d rather remove it entirely and never have to worry about it again 🤷‍♂️

    What spray gun do you recommend to use to spray the wet wet extream clear coat

    • @RustyZipper
      @RustyZipper 6 месяцев назад

      Hi Dave 👋- unfortunately Tenn’s Wet Wet went out of business a few years back. It is merely a re-branded product of Auto Bahn Glamour Clear. It’s still available from several places online but for the money you are way, way further ahead buying Speedo Kote High Solids Clear Coat # SMR-42. As far as a gun, don’t let the big name guns fool you with their fancy advertising hype! Literally any gun with a 1.3 Tip can spray a decent coat to match the factory orange peel on any production car made today. As for myself, I use a DeVilbiss Tekna ProLite with a 1.3 tip and a T110 air cap because I’m doing restoration work and want a super flat finish without a cut and buff. A DeVilbiss FLG 4 is an excellent medium quality gun for its price. If you asked 10 different painters you will get 20 different answers. 95% of your results / quality comes from the preparation, not the spray gun. Check out “The GunMan” here on RUclips for more unbiased information on spray guns.

      Hey Dave 👋 I’m sorry about the annoying music, poor focus and lengthy video. Absolutely do not be afraid to do this yourself. Preparation is 90% of painting. Make the last coat very “wet” but not so it runs. I’d recommend a clear coat for gloss and protection. Summit used to have decent prices on SEM if you can get free shipping. Body shops are booked solid 2 months out here in Upstate NY and charge say $100 an hour. For less than 1 hour you can do it yourself.

    • @RustyZipper
      @RustyZipper 2 года назад

      Nooo, I beat the heck out of these. My original one bit the dust after 5 years of abuse. Really all that broke was a seal in the air chamber and the handle where it threads in broke off. I retired it a few years ago but had to use it in a pinch and it still worked! I just had to constantly pump it to maintain pressure and hold the handle in. I’ve got 9 of these and last summer I bought the new battery powered one. I really like it but it’s a bit more delicate.

      @@RustyZipper I've been dealing with these things for 23 years. 10 at Orkin and 13 on my own. Orkin managers weren't exactly having the time of their lives repairing and refabricating them. I only use the thing 7 months out of the year. The strap is taped, I had the handle welded on 7 years ago because the thing broke off in the hollow housing it screws into, the hose has torn several times, and the metal band in front of the pump "cracked" compromising the pump. Had to get that welded. For a $300 backpack sprayer , it sure is high maintenance and fragile.

    Does anyone know how these sprayers handle the abuse of the day to day? I have technicians that beat the mess out of our equipment. We're scrambling the sides of rocky outcrops to spray invasive plants. I fear the exposed external pump could get damaged. Anyone have experience dealing with this? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a bunch of the newer models.

      Let me tell ya, I’m pretty rough on these and my hired guy is even worse. No issues. My original sprayers handle did break after 5 years of abuse. I like the newer design as they are more comfortable.

      You know, I don’t know. I assumed that you needed the flange that the screen is attached to. My Stihl service man didn’t say to just throw it away as I cut one off with a pair of plies one time when he was installing the Pressure/ Lift pump. I don’t really see a reason you couldn’t throw it away.

      The plastic hardware sprayers usually won't hold up under using professional pest control products where the steel tank and rubber hoses with the brass tips won't erode with harsh chemicals

    • @atklm1
      @atklm1 2 года назад

      @@michaelmerck7576 Not sure how well you know pesticides, but most actually used from any class with any formulation, are not harsh to materials, they are neutral in ph, and their concentration is extremely low. There are some special cases like termites, which in some cases (like in cellar and attics) require boric acid (or it's salt like Borax) solution, also used as fungicide, and many pest control operators also work as disinfectors, and sometimes cleans also pave ways from weeds and grout with harsh chemicals, and that's why they use steel tanks to use in wider range of gardening work. Tax deductible for private business, so buy the best, it's basically free whatever the price tag. Which are high not because they are made of magic, (they're just steel buckets) but because they are made so few; There are some other products that also cost much more than they should due to low sales volumes, like indoor air purifiers.

      Thanks for the kind words! This video was from when I was just starting, thought I’d make millions 💰 and I did! I still mow my lawn every week and it shows no sign of wear. I highly recommend applying the last coat as wet as you can and then a few coats of clear to protect it from the elements. Again, Make the last coat of clear as wet as possible without any runs.

    Hey Rusty. My 20 yr old dishwasher died this past Dec. I removed it and after looking for replacement and seeing how long they take to run a load, and complaints about the newer ones not drying all the way, I decided to just skip a new one since I can do a full load including pots and pans in less time than my sister’s and my son’s machines take, which can be up to 3 hours!! I don’t see how that saves any electricity. I’m very conservative with water when washing by hand so that isn’t a factor for me. I’d prefer my old machine that used more water & got it done faster. Problem is now I have 4 grandkids and when both families plus my mom and my inlaws were here a couple weekends ago, it was a bit much with all the extra dishes. I found one of these used on Facebook. The owner said it was older model that didn’t run long but when I got the model number and googled it, the manual says even the quick wash takes an hour. My plumber also warned me that leaving the dishes “dirty enough” to allow the “sensor” to work would eventually clog the insides of the machine and lines and cause bigger issues. I can get the machine for $80 and after watching your video and reading the comments, this might be the best bet for the price. A few concerns: Does it really take that long to wash a load - what is the fastest you’ve found in actual use?? He said it has been setting in the garage for a while. Have you ever taken it apart for a “deep clean”? I want to make sure there isn’t any mold or rotten food sitting in the guts of it. It is also missing the insulation wrap in the outside which means it will be loud but he says Home Depot or Lowe’s should have it. I’ll be calling them to ask. The spray arm has some rust on it too. I’m ready to pass but then came across this video. I don’t have $300-800 for a brand new machine.

      Yes! 1 hour on the quick cycle is what I use as my dishes are pre rinsed to keep the majority of the mess out. I had the same problem with my washing machine. The house came with an OLD Speed Queen, when it died I replaced it with a decent Maytag. Works fine but takes an eternity compared to the S Q. I later complained to the salesman when my clothes dryer quit. He said the new rules require a smaller water flow and to run it on bulky sheets mode to actually get water to submerse the clothes. I’m an exterminator and need to get the chemicals out not just a grass stain. Damn Govt regulations. I wouldn’t buy anything used unless he remodeled the whole kitchen and the wife didn’t like the color. Otherwise you’re out $80 on his junk washer and still have to buy a new one!

      @@RustyZipper Gotcha! Thank you for the reply. We looked at it and it had rust on the arms, gunk in the bottom, & a bad cigarette/dirty water smell. And yes… the government has f…uh…screwed up everything from lightbulbs, dishes, clothes washers etc. I spent over $500 and lots of time with justanswer.com and RUclips to save my old washing machine. I could’ve bought a basic new one for the same but now I know how to get mine apart and where to find replacements parts. A friend rebuilt the transmission too. I chose to invest in it because it’s from the era that I choose the water level & it doesn’t have a locking lid either; I can use a magnet to keep it running with the lid open even on spin cycle to monitor what is happening. I lay hands on it i prayer and thank God for it every time I use it. 😅😇🙏🏻

      I’ll take your $50 and tell you that no real man should be getting a manicure 💅 if you find a girl that says you need to have pretty hands you’re dating a woman who will nitpick every darn thing you do in life. If my g/f ever brought it up I’d be out the door before she could finish the sentence. She doesn’t date me for my hands, she dates me for how I treat her and how I handle situations like a real man; not act like her other girl friends.
